Process Paper
Why I choose this topic.
I have always had an interest in the fascinating world of art. One day I was roaming the internet when I came across an article on the seven architectural wonders of the world, with Barcelona, Spain being the 4th. I began to look at more pictures of Barcelona and quickly became intrigued by the beauty of this place. After searching pictures I saw a book titled "Barcelona 1900", which inspired me to do a little research on the topic. That is when I found out that Barcelona underwent a massive change artistically and agriculture wise during the 20th century.
How I conducted my research.
We started by researching people and events that were relative to that period of time. There were a plethora of people who contributed to the evolution of the modernization of art in Barcelona, and eventually the world. We were able to narrow down to three people, Miro, Picasso, and Dali. After that, we asked the librarian about books concerning the above mentioned people. To our surprise there was a narrow variety of books related to this topic. Next, we took our search to the internet. We were able to find a vast on the history of Spain and the life and accomplishments of those who we choose to focus on in this project. After we gathered all our information, we organized it all in the most convenient way so that readers will be able to digest the information correctly.
How I created my exhibit.
We choose to do a website because we think that it is the most efficient way to display our project. After looking over everything we decided that we will have a tab for specific sub-topics. The first tab will be essentially a mini- lesson of Spain's history. We choose a timeline because that was, what we felt, would be the easiest way to relay the information. Then, we decided to use separate tabs for the people we choose to focus on.
How does this topic tie into this years theme .
We believe that this topic tied into the theme because it was a turning point in Barcelona's history artistically but also culturally. All of those who we mentioned, helped to transform Barcelona into one of the top tourist destinations in the world.
